On February 20th, 2024, members of the Toronto Chapter of the Building Intelligence Group were treated to an exclusive tour of Commerce Court in downtown Toronto, hosted by the team at QuadReal Property Group.
The event kicked off at 3pm at the Commerce Court lobby with about 40 participants gathering to get a peak into the world of intelligent buildings. Led by the team from QuadReal, including Archie Mahalingam (Senior Project Manager, Digital Building Projects) and Pamela Westwater (Manager, Digital Engagement for Product and Platforms), the tour provided a comprehensive overview of various aspects of building intelligence, from the networking room that showed the intricacies of GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) to the security control area and the QuadReal spaces that showcased their digital engagement platform system and various IoT devices such as occupancy sensors and IEQ (Indoor Environmental Quality) sensors.
The insightful tour concluded at the QuadReal office lounge, where attendees were able to see QuadReal's integrated building management systems in action while enjoying pizza and drinks.
